Tuningwerk BMW 1 M gets 521bhp
We didn’t think there was any shortage of power with the BMW 1 M Coupe, but German tuners Tuningwerk clearly thinks 340bhp just ain’t enough. So, Tuningwerk has come up with a 521bhp upgrade for the baby BMW.
Tuningwerk has not confirmed any 0-60mph times for its 1 M RS, as it calls the car. However, it says top speed is now hiked up to 186mph.
To deal with the extra power and performance, the engine’s cooling, exhaust and clutch have all been upgraded. There are also new brakes with carbon ceramic discs that sit behind 19-inch alloy wheels.
The German tuning firm has also added a new front lip spoiler, bonnet, boot and rear wing to help with aerodynamics.
Inside, Recaro Pole Position seats keep driver and front passenger firmly in place. Tuningwerk also offers the option of further weight reduction with carbon fibre door trims.
The price for the Tuningwerk 1 M RS comes in at €119,000 (£97,300).
