Toyota reveals Camette concepts at toy show
Appropriately enough, Toyota has decided to launch its two latest concept cars at the 2012 International Tokyo Toy Show. Looking like cars more used to being bashed into the skirting boards, the Camette Sora and Daichi have been built to help children and adults alike better understand how a car works.
Both the Sora and more off-road-ish Daichi are based on the same platform, which uses 2+1 seating. The driver sits in the centre of the car, with the two passengers behind and to either side.
Toyota says the driving position is adaptable so children can drive the cars where permitted. The right rear seat can also be adjusted so an adult can help with steering and braking.
Body panels from both the Camette models can be removed and replaced with others to alter the look of the car.
Sadly, there are no plans to put either of the two Camette models into production.
