Porsche reveals Martini livery for 918 Spyder

Porsche has released new images of its 918 Spyder hybrid supercar decked out in Martin livery as a nod to the company’s racing past. The distinctive Martini colour scheme will be offered to customers, along with a Race Track package that lightens the 918 to less than 1700kg.

Martini was Porsche’s official partner in motor racing between 1973 and 1978, and now the iconic livery is back testing at the Nurburgring. Porsche says the goal for the 918 Spyder is to lap the Nordschleife circuit in less than 7 mins 22 secs.

Helping to achieve this is a 4.6-litre 570bhp V8 engine and electric motors front and rear with a combined 200bhp. Porsche says the Spyder will cover 0-62mph in 3.0 seconds, hit a 203mph top speed and return 94.0mpg average economy.

The 918 Spyder will also be able to run at speeds of up to 94mph in battery power alone and have a 15.5-mile range running solely on electric power.
