Nissan Leaf joins the force
Portuguese crooks will soon be getting their collars felt in a cleaner, greener way now the country’s police are using Nissan Leaf patrol cars.
It gives a whole new meaning to being charged by the police, but Portugal’s finest say the eight Leafs will help them reduce their carbon footprint.
The Leafs come complete with flashing blue lights and sirens and are fully marked up like any other police car in Portugal.
What’s not clear is what will happen if the escaping criminals have a getaway car with a range of more than 100 miles or a car with top speed of more than 100mph. Also, underworld sources suggest fleeing villains may not be prepared to wait while the police quick charge their Leaf to continue a hot pursuit.
